Taking a brief break from his political commitments, C.P. Yogeeshwar looked relaxed and cheerful as he interacted with the media during the shooting of the title song of Karnata Balam Ajeyam. Just as Yogeeshwar continues to retain his charismatic screen presence, his son Dhyan impressed everyone with his charm and confidence, representing the new generation.
“It has been almost a month since we began shooting Karnata Balam Ajeyam. We have been filming continuously in and around Nargund and Badami. After two more days of shooting, the Badami schedule will be completed. We will then move to Hospet and Bengaluru for a couple of days, which will conclude the first schedule. The second schedule will be shot in the old Mysuru region.
“The story begins in Badami and travels across the length and breadth of Karnataka. It is a film deeply rooted in Kannada culture and the soil of our state.
“Through this film, we want to introduce today’s youth to our rich history. Along with highlighting the problems faced by present-day farmers, the story also takes audiences back to the Chalukya period. The film is directed by Naganna, with cinematography by Shekar Chandru, and is being crafted by a team of experienced technicians.
“My son Dhyan has prepared himself thoroughly before making his acting debut. We are producing this film exclusively in Kannada. The story also incorporates the Mahadayi movement and reflects the issues faced by farmers across Karnataka. It raises the question of why people from the land once ruled by Pulakeshi are migrating today, while conveying the hope that the entire state should become irrigated.
“‘Karnatabalam’ was the name of the army of the Chalukya king Pulakeshi, and we have adopted it as the title of our film. While many historical films made in other languages contain fictional elements, our film is inspired by real historical events and contemporary issues.
“I am returning to acting after a gap of 25 years, portraying the role of a farmer-activist. I am delighted to hear the appreciation my son Dhyan is receiving for his performance. We are spending six days shooting this title song. It has been filmed at Badami, Aihole, Pattadakal, and nearby locations. I believe it will become a song of pride for Kannada, showcasing the glory of Badami and the Chalukya Empire. “So far, we have completed nearly 35 per cent of the film’s shooting.
Speaking about his production banner’s future plans, Yogeeshwar added: “Our production banner is also preparing for Sainika 2. After the release of Karnata Balam Ajeyam, scheduled for January 15, 2027, we have a few more projects lined up. I struggled for nearly 15 years before establishing myself in the film industry. The situation is very different for my son Dhyan, who is entering cinema with much better preparation and opportunities.”
