The Kannada word “Raddhi”(ರದ್ದಿ), meaning scrap, serves as a powerful metaphor in filmmaker Arjun Kishore Chandra’s latest musical venture. More than referring to old, discarded objects, Raddhi explores the emotional baggage that people accumulate throughout their lives.
According to a popular belief, any household item left untouched for six months becomes “scrap.” But can we apply the same logic to our memories? Can heartbreaks, regrets, broken dreams, old photographs, and unread messages simply be discarded?
These questions form the emotional core of ‘Raddhi’, a thought-provoking music video that presents a visually striking and emotionally layered narrative. Through poetic storytelling, soulful music, and symbolic imagery, the film invites viewers to reflect on a universal question:
“If you had the chance to throw away your memories like scrap, would you?”
The music video explores how every individual carries emotional baggage throughout life, often holding on to moments they wish they could erase but never truly can.
Arjun Kishore Chandra, an independent Kannada filmmaker, actor, writer, and producer, is known for creating emotionally driven stories rooted in original ideas and meaningful human experiences. A native of Karnataka and currently based in Dublin, Ireland, he balances his professional career in quantity surveying with his passion for filmmaking.
In Raddhi, Arjun not only directs the project but also plays a key role on screen. Speaking about the inspiration behind the film, he says:
“Raddhi was born from a simple thought—that every person carries memories they cannot throw away. I wanted to tell a story that people don’t just watch, but feel. If it encourages someone to reflect on their own life, then the film has achieved its purpose.”
Released recently on YouTube, Raddhi has received appreciation for its originality, cinematic storytelling, and emotional depth.
The project brings together an accomplished creative team. The concept and lyrics are by Trilok Trivikrama, the music is composed by Navaneeth Sham, and the song is rendered by renowned singer Chetan Sosca. Manohar Joshi serves as the Director of Photography, while Akshay Rao handles the editing.
