Director Thriller Manju’s Deadly Killer, starring Abhay Veer and Lokendra Surya, has successfully completed 25 days in theatres. Featuring a suspense thriller story set inside a house in the middle of a forest, the film has won the appreciation of audiences with its strong content and gripping narration. The film has emerged as a major success in North Karnataka, completing a successful 25-day run in more than 17 theatres. It also continues to be screened at Bhoomika Theatre in Bengaluru.
To mark the occasion, the film’s team organized a special event featuring an AV presentation showcasing the journey of the film, followed by a memento distribution ceremony. Actress Ragini Dwivedi and Aravind Reddy of AVR Group attended the event as chief guests and presented commemorative plaques to the members of the film’s team.
Speaking on the occasion, director Thriller Manju said watching the AV left him emotional as it reminded him of the immense hardships involved in making the film. He said the team spent considerable time on post-production, which ultimately resulted in an excellent output. He added that audiences embraced the film wholeheartedly and acknowledged the support extended by Upendra, Jaggesh, Doddanna, Ganesh, Pratham and many others. “We expected the film to perform well to an extent, but we never imagined it would receive such an overwhelming response,” he said.
Lead actor Abhay Veer said he was only “50 percent happy” despite the film’s success. He explained that while making his first film, a person had given him the name “Abhay,” and he had promised to return after becoming successful. Expressing sadness that the person is currently going through difficult times, Abhay became emotional as he remembered his mentor Darshan, who guided him in his journey. He said he had witnessed many ups and downs over the past 14 years and credited producer Prashanth for believing in him, investing in the film and standing by him like an elder brother. “I still have a lot to learn,” he said. He also noted that Thriller Manju has been associated with most of his films and that actress Ragini has stood by and supported the team throughout the film’s journey. He concluded by expressing his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported him.
Actress Ragini Dwivedi said she felt proud looking at the entire team, as everyone on the stage had worked hard to reach where they are today. Recalling that she too was a newcomer in 2006, she said Abhay had built his career through relentless effort without any initial support. She added that consistent hard work and self-belief would certainly lead to success.
Producer Prashanth T. Tambrallimath said the film’s journey had reached a milestone with the successful theatrical run and that his dream of producing a film had come true. He added that he was now taking steps towards producing more films. He also revealed that AVR Cinemax OTT had acquired the digital rights of Deadly Killer for a good price.
Produced by Prashanth T. Tambrallimath under the Keerthi Silver Screen and Vedic Cosmos banners, Deadly Killer also features Thriller Manju in a negative role in addition to directing the film. During the event, commemorative plaques were presented to music director Vinu Manasu, cinematographer Mallikarjun, actors Lokendra Surya, Sunil Balder, Puneeth, Abhi and other members of the team.
