A rare event in Sandalwood, the trailer launch ceremony of ‘Uttara’ and ‘Abhyanjana’ was held at Sri Renukamba Studio. Veteran actor Sundar Raj and Smt Lakshmi and Govindaraj couple from Dr. Raj’s family inaugurated the event and conveyed their best wishes. Topnotch director and ace cameraman Dinesh Baboo has set pertinent issues in his content based films once again.

Coincidentally, both films have several unique features, including the absence of songs. It is said to be a record in the Indian film industry that the producers, directors, hero of both films are the same, Siri Music has purchased the trailer rights, and Purohith Films is releasing both films on the same day.
Nageshwar Rao, who has done hairstyling for most star artists including Dr. Rajkumar, MGR, and Dr. Vishnuvardhan, apart from playing a small role, has invested in the 26th and 27th films under the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Arts banner. Nagaraj Shandilya and B.S. Manjunath are co-producers. Story-Screenplay-Dialogues-Cinematography-Direction is by Dinesh Babu. Narayana Swamy is the hero.

Speaking on the occasion, nationala ward winning actress Tara Anuradha said, “It is welcome that the producers have spent here what they earned here. Dinesh Babu has made an effort in ‘Uttara’ to meaningfully explain to the public, in a lawful manner, complex subjects such as family values and the fine line that exists between the rules that must be followed under the law. I have portrayed the role of a judge and how she would handle such a case when it comes before her. I have not yet watched the film. I request the media to watch it and provide reviews.”

Mangaluru-based Samprathi Alva is the heroine Uttara Kannada film. Ashwini Gowda, Arjun Chauhan, Nidhi Chakravarthy and others have acted in the film. Shooting has been carried out in and around Bengaluru. Music is by A.T. Ravish and editing is by Vasanth Kumar.

As for ‘Abhyanjana’, it contains realistic elements. The title refers to an oil bath. In some parts of the rural districts of Tamil Nadu, their own family still follows such a practice even today. When elderly people become ill and difficult to care for, they are given euthanasia through Abhyanjana. The story depicts how a Karnataka-based couple living in that region faces such a situation.

Apoorva Bharadwaj is the female lead with Narayanaswamy. A very touching role is performed by Karisubbu and others. Shooting has been carried out in and around Chamarajanagar. Music is by Dr. C. Maharaj and editing is by Eshwar.
