The Kannada film ‘Asurana Kaiyalli Parijatha,’ which has drawn attention for its title, is scheduled to release on May 22. The trailer of the film was recently released on the D Beats YouTube channel, and the makers have also unveiled the first poster of the movie.
Produced under the Meeksha Pictures banner, the film features veteran Kannada actors in key roles. The makers said the film presents the concept of “Parijatha” through an artistic narrative.
Director Tejaswi Vignesh has written the story and screenplay by blending elements of history and modernity with realism. The film has completed shooting and censor formalities ahead of its release.
The story revolves around how the flower of life, represented through “Parijatha,” gets trapped in the hands of asuras. The film explores how a person loses humanity and develops destructive qualities when unable to attain desired things in life. The director has attempted to portray the emotional and psychological state of individuals through the narrative.
Pramod Shetty and Pradeep Poojary appear in major roles in the film, while Karthik and Yash Shetty play the lead roles. Television actress Rajani plays the fictional character Parijatha.
The supporting cast includes K. S. Sridhar, Manjunath Hegde, Mamatha, Dr. Leela Mohan, Vimarsha Gowda, Prabheek Mogaveer, Santosh, Nisha Koppaleker, and Keerthana Coorg, among others.
The film’s cinematography is handled by Rakesh C. Tilak, while the music is composed by Christopher Jaison. Action sequences have been choreographed by Naveen HV.
Most of the shooting for the film was carried out in and around Bengaluru. The film is slated for a statewide release on May 22 in centres including Mangaluru, Mysore, Udupi, and Bengaluru.
