The film Dhruti, which presents a socially relevant message through a different storyline, is set to release in theatres on May 8.
Film direction is a dream for many, but only a few get to realise it. Entrepreneur Jagadish, who had aspired to become a director since childhood, has fulfilled his dream by directing Dhruti. Speaking at a press meet, Jagadish and his team shared details about the film.
Jagadish said that although he is an entrepreneur, he always had a passion for filmmaking. The script work for Dhruti began six years ago. Due to budget constraints, the initial plan was to shoot the film using a mobile phone. However, with support from his wife and well-wishers, the project was later filmed using a camera. He revealed that shortly after the shoot began, the cinematographer passed away, after which he took up the responsibility himself by learning cinematography.
He explained that the film revolves around the exploitation of women, an issue seen in society, but added that the film does not only depict the problem and also presents a solution. Prashanth plays the lead role, while Anchal appears as the female lead. The film also features several new talents. Jagadish said that music by Prasanna Kumar is a highlight of the film. He also handled story, screenplay, dialogues, lyrics, and production for the project. He urged audiences to watch the film in theatres.
Actress Anchal said this is her debut film and expressed happiness about getting a meaningful role in her first project. She said her character, named Dhruti, faces many challenges but confronts them with determination.
Lead actor Prashanth said he is originally a dancer and choreographer, and also a theatre artist. He expressed satisfaction about getting a role that aligns with the kind of character he wanted to debut with in films.
Music director Prasanna Kumar shared details about the film’s music. Actors Manoj Kumar and Madhu Mandagere also spoke about their roles in the film.
