The teaser and song release event of the film “Kiladi Megha”, produced by Sulochana Sukumar under Sulochana Productions, was held recently.
The film is written and directed by B.T. Manjunath, who has worked as a dubbing artist for many years. It presents, in a horror backdrop, what all can happen when one goes after money.
Mahalakshmi, known for DKD and Drama Juniors fame, appears as the heroine Megha in this film, while senior actor Shankar Ashwath plays the role of a devotee.
Sukumar, who has worked for many years in the Kannada film industry as a dancer and has also served in the police department, is producing a film for the first time with Kiladi Megha.
Director B.T. Manjunath Araga said that this is a story revolving around a 13-year-old girl. Initially, the film was started by Rajesh Raj, but due to certain reasons, he could not complete it. Later, I took over the film and completed the remaining portions including songs and fights, and have brought it to the release stage, he said.
Producer Sukumar said that he had gone to act in the film as an artist, but due to circumstances, he had to become the producer. Both Manjunath and I have worked in many films as dancers. The story of Kiladi Megha conveys that one should not run behind money, he added.
Actor Shankar Ashwath said that this is a role he performed based on real experience. There will be a life struggling in distress, and I come to protect it, he said. The film’s songs are composed by K.M. Indra.
At the event, Kannada Film Chamber of Commerce President Krishne Gowda and senior comedian Mithra attended as chief guests and conveyed their best wishes to the ‘Kiladi Megha’ team.
