The shooting and post-production work of ‘Sangeeta Bar and Restaurant’, starring ‘Sensational Star’ Komal Kumar, Meghana Raj and Anusha Rai in the lead roles, has almost been completed. The team has now slowly begun the promotional activities for the film.
As part of the first phase of promotions for ‘Sangeeta Bar and Restaurant’, the first-look motion poster of the film, titled ‘30 ML’, has been released. In this motion poster, the film’s lead actor Komal appears as a court painter, while actress Meghana Raj is seen as a queen. Hindu and Muslim religious elements are also prominently featured in the motion poster.
Director Sandesh Shetty Ajri is calling the shots for ‘Sangeeta Bar and Restaurant’, while Vikas Shetty is producing the film. Made on a big budget, the film has a story that unfolds across two different time periods.
The shooting of ‘Sangeeta Bar and Restaurant’ was carried out in two schedules over 75 days, with most of the filming taking place in the coastal and Malnad regions, including Kundapura, Shivamogga and Thirthahalli.
A special feature of the film is that seven massive sets with seven different designs were constructed in Valthur village of Amparu in Kundapura for the shooting. According to the film team, seven varied sets were erected on a vast two-acre property according to the requirements of the story, and nearly 90 percent of ‘Sangeeta Bar and Restaurant’ was filmed within these sets.
Interestingly, although the name of the film is ‘Sangeeta Bar and Restaurant’, the same film has two titles, says director Sandesh Shetty Ajri. The reason is the film’s storyline. The first half begins in a bar and revolves around the bar, while the second half begins at ‘Devara Taana’ and concludes there. Therefore, while the first half is ‘Sangeeta Bar and Restaurant’, the second half is titled ‘Devara Taana’. Both these names are the titles of our film. However, as per censor rules, a film can have only one title, and hence we are bringing the film to theatres under the name ‘Sangeeta Bar and Restaurant’, the director explains regarding the film’s title.
For the first time, lead actor Komal is appearing in two roles in ‘Sangeeta Bar and Restaurant’, with one character belonging to the historical period and the other representing modern times. In one role, he appears as a court painter, while in the other, he plays the role of a film director, thereby playing a ‘double’ role. Meghana Raj appears as a queen in ‘Devara Taana’, while she is paired with the hero as the female lead at the ‘Sangeeta’ bar.
The film also features a large ensemble cast including Pramod Shetty, Prakash Tummirnad, Vajradheer Jain, Utsav, Karthik Rao, Raghu Ramanakoppa, Sirija, Vardhan, Karan, Radhika Rao, Divyashree, Akshatha, Arasu, Mahesh, Nagaraj, Chitrakala, Umesh Kinnal, Manish Shetty, M.K. Math, Prashanth Siddi, Radhakrishna and Mahabaleshwara Bhat. Director Sandesh Shetty Ajri has also appeared on screen in a role in the film.
The film features four different songs, fights, comedy, emotion and a spiritual story. The film team is confident that ‘Sangeeta Bar and Restaurant’ has everything that a complete entertainer should have.
