Lyricist and director Yogaraj Bhat, who is also known for writing film songs, has welcomed the New Year by penning a new album song titled Amalu. Actor Sharath has rendered the song. The music has been composed by Chetan–Davi, and the song has been produced by Mahadevappa R Kanakapura. Released under the Pancharangi Audio banner, the album song has been receiving a high number of views online.

Details about the song were shared during a press meet held at ‘Sukha’, a venue located in a scenic setting in Nagarabhavi, where members of the Amalu team addressed the media.

Speaking at the event, Yogaraj Bhat said the song was inspired by a habitual drunkard he used to encounter frequently. According to him, the man would repeatedly claim that he was not drunk even after consuming alcohol, a mindset Bhat felt was common among many drinkers. Using this idea as the base, he wrote the song. He said he discussed the concept with his friend Chetan Suska, who immediately worked on the music, with Davi also joining him in the composition.

Bhat added that while writing the song, he felt Sharath’s voice would suit it. He said Sharath initially declined when he was approached, but eventually agreed after repeated requests. He also recalled that he had earlier written several popular songs for films featuring Sharath, including “Khali Quatru Bottle” and “Phone-u Illa Message-u Illa”, and described their collaboration as a successful combination. He thanked singer Sharath, composers Chetan–Davi, and producer Mahadevappa R Kanakapura, and said he would return soon with another song.

Singer Sharath said this was his first press meet of the New Year and thanked the Amalu team for the opportunity. He stated that he had initially refused to sing the song as he does not consider himself a professional singer and has only sung casually, with his basic training coming from theatre. He said Yogaraj Bhat persisted until he agreed to sing Amalu. Sharath expressed happiness over the response the song has received after its release. He also said the song was not limited to the theme of alcohol consumption, but conveyed several aspects of life through its lyrics. He thanked the entire Amalu team, including the producer.

Producer Mahadevappa R Kanakapura, music director Chetan, Huli Karthik, event coordinator Gadda Viji, ‘Sukha’ founder Harish, and Bharat were present at the press meet. Actors Sumukha and Prithvi Shamanuru attended the event and wished success to the Amalu song.
