A video album titled Wrong Words, aimed at creating public awareness about a newly proposed government bill, was released recently at Renukamba Studio. The project has been produced under the banner of Radical Concept Studio.
The video album has been conceptualised by Bengaluru-based young talent Nahesh Pool, who works professionally as an automobile engineer and is also involved in filmmaking. He has handled the lyrics, music, and direction for the song and has also appeared in the five-minute video.
Speaking at the event, Nahesh Pool said that the government had proposed a bill last month stating that hate speech, hate crimes, or speaking against any community would be considered an offence, punishable with a fine of ₹50,000 and up to seven years of imprisonment. He noted that the bill is yet to receive approval from the Governor and that many members of the public are not aware of its details. He said the video song was created to spread awareness about the proposed legislation.
He further stated that the video also includes references to building a model road that can be given back to the public, with each stage of construction to be shown live from the steps of Vidhana Soudha to ensure transparency. He added that a day of shooting was conducted in front of Vidhana Soudha. During the interaction, he also entertained media representatives by playing the guitar.
The video album’s creative head is Akshara Suresh, while cinematography and editing have been handled by Sagar.
