‘Taj’ is the new Kannada film revolving around a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl, and it is ready for release. Unfortunately, the female lead, Apsara, is no longer with us.

Undoubtedly, ‘Taj’ is a love story with several layers. On Saturday, the film ‘Taj’ was presented to the media with trailers and songs. The father of the late actress, Apsara Ramakrishna, in a choked voice, remembered his daughter, who was a mixture of anger and happiness in real life. The team members offered flowers to Apsara’s portrait as a mark of respect.

We had ‘Taj Mahal,’ a successful film in the past, and now we have ‘Taj.’ The protagonist of the film, Shanmukha Jai, is also a producer. After watching the rebel star Ambarish Indrajith’s Kannada film, he decided to enter the cinema industry. Due to director Rajarathnam’s persuasion, civil contractor and businessman Shanmukha Jai took up acting.

Rajarathnam, also known as Basavaraj, had written several stories and a novel in his life. He worked with a few directors, contributed to script departments for several films, and drew from the true incidents of his friend’s life for the story of this film. The film retains 80 percent of the original happenings, with the remaining 20 percent comprising added commercial elements. Rajarathnam directed the film under Sri Pavani Lakshmi Combines. Interestingly, the film’s first print was ready for censorship within eight months. The baseline for Rajarathnam’s ‘Taj’ is ‘Modalu Manavanagu’ – he advocates that humanity is essential in this universe. According to him, the story of the film is the true hero of the film.

Vardhan, who is popular from quite a few films, took up his first Muslim character in this film and assures that this film is for all castes and religions.

Kaddi Vishwa, in his 24th film since ‘Taj Mahal’ of 2008, was in hibernation for four years because he had to take care of his father, who is no longer living. Kaddi Vishwa’s beard and hairstyle are unique, and the producer of ‘Bhageera’ frequently checked it to maintain continuity.

Deepak Krishna, the cinematographer of his sixth film, has risen from a drone operator to a notable position. He is the son of the fantastic cinematographer J.G. Krishna of Kannada cinema. Using two lighting patterns, Deepak completed the cinematography work in 35 days.

Rock Satish, a realtor businessman and actor in several Kannada films, allowed his farmhouse to be used for the film’s shooting. He reminisced about the dialogues from the Kannada film ‘Poojari’ and urged everyone to watch and support Kannada cinema.

Kannada Yogi and Jr. Narasimharaju also thanked the film team of ‘Taj.’
