The Karnataka Press Club Council is celebrating ‘Vishwa Kannada Habba’ on September 28 in Singapore this year. Last year, it celebrated Kannada Habba in Dubai in grand style.
Karnataka Press Club Council President Dr. Sivakumar Nagar Navile, Maharshi Dr. Anand Guruji, Ambassador of the festival Vasishtha Simha, President of the 2nd World Kannada Festival Dr. C. Somashekhar, cultural president actress Roopika, and others were present at the media briefing.
This festival is organized annually in a different country to unite Kannadigas from abroad. This year, it will be held in Singapore, and in this event, apart from the artists of the city, folk artists from every corner of the state will be brought in.
This time, two achievers will be honored with the Vishwa Manva award, and nine achievers will be honored with the Vishwamanya Award. ISRO scientist S. Kiran Kumar and Rajya Sabha member Sudha Murthy (Infosys Foundation) will receive the 2024 World Humanitarian Award. Additionally, Prasad Guruji, actor Doddanna, music director Gurukiran, singer Mangli, folk singer Kikkeri Krishnamurthy, Mikkangathe Asha, Padma Nagaraj, Harish Kumar, and Umesh Kumar will be honored with the ‘Vishwamanya’ award.
Hundreds of Kannadigas residing in the state, country, and abroad will participate in this festival. Karunada Chakravarthy Dr. Sivarajkumar and Geeta Sivarajkumar will be the chief guests.
President of the Karnataka Press Club Council, Dr. Shivakumar Nagar Navile, says the purpose of this festival is to promote Kannada abroad. Apart from honoring Kannadigas who preserve and nurture Kannada abroad, the organization has designed many programs to provide employment and education to Kannadigas abroad. The organization has many units and organizes various programs, including environmental protection, blood donation, and health camps.
