Vinay Gowda, who rose to fame through Bigg Boss Kannada, is making waves with his latest role as a formidable antagonist in the upcoming film Balaramana Dinagalu. Sharing the screen with Mari Tiger Vinod Prabhakar, Vinay makes a powerful entry as a fierce villain, fulfilling his long-standing dream of playing impactful negative characters.
Having entered the entertainment industry through television serials in 2012, Vinay Gowda’s career trajectory took a dramatic turn after participating in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 10. The platform opened up new opportunities for him, leading to prominent roles in star-studded films.
Renowned filmmaker K.M. Chaitanya, known for his sensitive and nuanced storytelling, has taken up the directorial reins for Balaramana Dinagalu. The movie delves into another gripping tale of Bangalore’s underworld, continuing the director’s fascination with this theme.
Speaking about his casting, Vinay revealed, “Producer Shreyas saw me on Bigg Boss and felt I was the perfect fit for the role of Katti. Since the character needed someone strong enough to stand opposite Vinod Prabhakar, he referred me to director Chaitanya, who approved me for the role. That’s how my journey with this film began.”
Vinay further shared updates on the film’s progress, stating, “Around 20 to 25 days of shooting remain for my part. There’s a major fight sequence, and once that’s completed, my work will mostly be done. About 50% of the film’s shooting is already complete, with key action sequences yet to be wrapped up.”
Reflecting on his interest in playing negative roles, Vinay said, “From a young age, I was more attracted to villains than heroes. I really admire Vajramuni and also have a liking for Tamil actor Raghuvaran. Vajramuni was like water—he could mold himself perfectly into any role. Heroes have a defined framework; they need to be a good son, husband, or boyfriend. Villains have no such constraints. That’s why I want to be recognized as a villain.”
The film Balaramana Dinagalu is being produced by Padmavati Jayaram and Shreyas. With a gripping storyline and intense performances, it promises to captivate audiences upon its release.
