The utopian Upendra, who attended the pre-release event of Gowri as the chief guest, made an interesting point about debutant Samarjith Lankesh.

Upendra, known for his knack for reading fortunes, predicted that the future of Samarjith Lankesh, the debut actor in Gowri, lies in Hindi cinema.

“What I wish for Samarjith and Sanya Iyer is not important; the audience’s wishes are what matter. If he desires to see the first day, first show, he will be able to grow…”

As Upendra made this statement, the crowd at Nexus Mall erupted in applause. With just three to four days remaining before the release of Indrajit Lankesh’s film Gowri, starring his son Samarjith, Indrajit organized a pre-release event at Nexus Mall on Sunday evening. Upendra attended the event as the chief guest, extending his wishes to Indrajit and Samarjith.

Speaking on the occasion, Upendra remarked, “Indrajith has a golden touch. Deepika Padukone got her break through Indrajith Lankesh, and now she is an international star. Samarjith has the looks of a Bollywood or Hollywood actor. This new generation should thrive in our Kannada film industry, and that’s only possible with the audience’s support. Indrajith is a showman, and it’s fitting that he can organize such a program.”

Upendra also noted that Samarjith is well-suited for both love stories and action films, adding, “He has developed a good physique, and he dances well. People have already started comparing him to Hrithik Roshan. Just keep your innocence. It’s very difficult to maintain innocence here. When we are young, we are very innocent. Some manage to retain it even in old age, while others lose it, thinking they know it all.” He then entertained the crowd by reciting a dialogue from his popular film Buddivantha.

Indrajit Lankesh shared his thoughts, saying, “Cinema is a dynamic medium, and thinking is required at every moment. Bringing something new is Upendra’s forte. We are fortunate to have him in the Kannada film industry. Uppi sir has brought great fame to Kannada cinema with his intelligence and dynamism. Today, he has taken Kannada cinema to the world stage. We can’t even imagine films like A, Upendra, and Super without him. My son watched the climax of the movie Upendra and remarked that it was like a Toronto-style film made back then. It’s impossible to think that way. We are proud to have him among us.”

A ramp walk was organized at the event, featuring Samarjith Lankesh, Sanya Iyer, and others.
