After 33 years in the makeup division, working for stalwarts like Dr. Rajakumar and even in Sachin Tendulkar advertisements, the humble and simple Dinesh Achar sets a new example—Udaharane!
You may be wondering what this example is! He has brought together three children from Hindu, Muslim, and Christian backgrounds to create a story for this children’s film. Dinesh Achar’s mentor, Raghunath, was present at the recent promotion of the film Udaharane.
Dinesh Achar has made a name for himself at both the state and national levels. Udaharane is produced by Hemavathi Dinesh Achar under the Bhumika Movies banner, and the film is set to release on October 18. Recently, the trailer of this film was launched.
“I have worked as a costume artist, prop artist, and co-director for many films, but this is my first film as a director. Udaharane is a story that unfolds in three families of different castes. Our film carries a positive message for both children and adults,” says Dinesh Achar. The film features music direction by Shriguru, cinematography by Anji Prakash, and editing by Sanjeeva Reddy.
On one occasion, while doing makeup for Power Star Puneeth Rajakumar, Dinesh Achar narrated this script and received much appreciation. He acknowledges Raghavendra Rajakumar as his godfather and fondly remembers Cheluvaraj, who brought him into this field. In Kannada cinema, Dinesh Achar has worked as a makeup artist for over 200 films.
Renowned gym trainer Appu Venkatesh, who once trained Dr. Rajakumar and Puneeth Rajakumar, is delighted because Dinesh Achar hails from the Rajakumar family’s circle. Appu Venkatesh’s son, Arjun Hegde, also appears in the film.
Veteran actors such as Sudha Belawadi, Radha Ramachandra, Nela Narendrababu, Nela Mahesh Babu, Appu Venkatesh, Khushi, Nandini, Prince Sharath, Anusha Jain, Smt. Suresh, Manju, and Srinivas, along with over forty-eight other artists, have contributed to this film. Dinesh Achar himself has written the story, screenplay, dialogues, and lyrics for the film.
“I have known Dinesh Achar for many years. When he first told me he wanted to make a film, I was hesitant. But after hearing the story, I liked it. His efforts should be encouraged by the media and the audience,” says Executive Producer Ravi Shankar.
Artists and technicians such as Nela Mahesh Babu, Khushi, Raghunath, Srinivas Kaushik (as a guest), Shalmana, Nandini Sharath, Anand Shinde, and G. Manjunath (PA to DCP) also addressed the media during the promotion.
