The trailer launch event of the film Deadly Lovers, which has a catchy title, was grandly held at Sri Renukamba Studio. Nagendra has handled the story, screenplay, dialogues, editing, and direction, along with producing the film under the banner of Anagha Enterprises. Minister Lahari Velu, who has played the role of the Home Minister in the film, inaugurated the event. Akhil Kumar gets his third opportunity as the lead actor, while newcomer Tanuprasad plays the female lead. Other key roles include Premagowda as the ACP, Bhaskar as the father, Vinod as the villain, and A.R. Lokesh in a supporting role. The film’s music is composed by Layakokila, cinematography is by H.N. Narasimhamoorthy, stunts by Vikram Singh, background score by Shrisashta, and A.R. Lokesh serves as the executive producer.

Speaking at the event, Lahari Velu mentioned that director S. Umesh of Avale Nanna Hendthi was the reason he took up acting. He recalled their long-standing camaraderie and added, “I don’t know if I’ll ever enter Vidhana Soudha, but I have achieved what was not possible there in this film. It is a misconception that people don’t watch movies anymore. We have forgotten family dramas and novel-based films. If a fresh story is backed by a good director and producer, audiences will surely come to theaters. However, some within the industry are ruining the business. Only when the central and state governments tighten their grip on piracy can the film industry survive. Blaming only the artists is not fair,” he said, taking a dig at a minister’s recent statement, while also wishing success to the Deadly Lovers team.

Director Nagendra, who learned filmmaking under his mentor S. Umesh, stated, “For Deadly Lovers, I have taken on six major responsibilities. The plot revolves around two lovers who infiltrate the underworld, deceive the villain, and steal drug money. When the Home Minister learns of this, he assigns the case to the ACP. What makes these lovers deadly? What is their backstory? Ultimately, who gets the money? Does the villain take his revenge, or do the police encounter them? These intriguing elements make up the film.” He also mentioned that the movie was shot in locations like Manchanabele Dam and various places around Bengaluru, and he requested media support.

Prashanth Nayak, who has produced 18 films so far, has started a new distribution company called Tandava Movie Makers. He plans to distribute the film across 50-60 centers. The event was graced by Ba. Ma. Harish, Ba. Ma. Girish, and actor Amit.
