The TNIT South Indian Media Awards, organized under the leadership of actor Raghu Bhat, will be held on a grand scale this year, extending its reach across South India.
For the past seven years, Raghu Bhat has been successfully organizing the TNIT Media Awards in Karnataka through The New Indian Times (TNIT). This year, the organization has decided to host the awards at the South Indian level.
Speaking at a press conference, TNIT head Raghu Bhat announced the expansion plans. Senior journalist Ganesh Kasargod, former Doordarshan and All India Radio executive Nirmala Eligar, AVR representative Shailesh Kumar, TNIT editor Meera, and Suguna Raghu Bhat were present at the event.
Actors Prem (Nenapirali) and Ragini Dwivedi attended as special guests and wished for the success of the event.
Raghu Bhat stated that TNIT has been honoring reporters and cameramen working across various segments of Karnataka’s electronic media. Now, the awards will include media professionals from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. The selection process involves consulting with television channels in each state, collecting nominations, and a jury panel deciding the final awardees.
The Karnataka jury will include Ganesh Kasargod and Nirmala Eligar. Separate jury panels will be appointed for other states as well. The support of AVR’s Aravind Venkatesh Reddy has played a key role in taking the awards to a South Indian level.
Raghu Bhat thanked actors Prem and Ragini Dwivedi for attending and extending their wishes. The official date for the TNIT 2025 event will be announced soon.
