Indeed, the debut film by Abhyudaya Movies director S Bhagat Raj takes a meticulous approach. Kiran Shanker, drawing from his experience as an assistant in the camps of veterans Kashinath and Guruprasad, has devised a strategy involving direct engagement with the audience to understand their preferences. The Kannada film, “The Suit,” carries the sub-caption ‘Athithi Devo Bhava.’

Following a survey of 15,000 individuals across the state, which emphasized the significance of the film’s content over the exterior cut-out of the theater, Bhagat meticulously crafted the script, making the SUIT the central character in ‘The Suit’ Kannada cinema. Additionally, he gathered insights from influential figures in society, expressed in the form of short poems reflecting their perceptions of the ‘Suit’ in life.

Evidently, the suit is depicted as having four components in the pocket, each serving as characters in the film. Bhagat takes pride in the trio of ‘Kiranas’ (sparks) behind his film: music director Kiran Shanker, cinematographer Kiran Hampapura, and painter Kiran Dalavayi. The paintings featured in the film showcase the diverse interests of the director, Bhagat.

The Suits honoring Sir M Visveswaraya, Mahatma Gandhi, and Babasaheb Dr Ambedkar continue to hold a sacred significance. In this film, our focus revolves around ‘Banna and Bhavana.’ The poster highlights themes of Love, Sex, and brush paint. The film boasts a team of 60-plus artists, with Dr V Nagendra Prasad, Umesh Banakar, Sidlingu Sridhar, and others playing prominent roles. During the film’s first media meet, young directors Adarsh Inshwarappa, Jagan, and Sridhar were presented with ‘The Suit’ as a token of respect.

Ramaswamy serves as the main producer, and Malathi Gowda is the co-producer. The songs “Ailu Pailu…,” sung by folk singer Swamy, and “E Bisilalli Maleyaagi…,” were showcased at the MMB Legacy.

Kiran Hampapura spent 70 days behind the camera, while Deepti Kapse assumes one of the five significant characters in the film. Sujay Arya takes on a negative role, and senior supporting actor Pranaya Murthy was the sole participant dressed in a suit at the film’s promotional event. Bhishma Ramaiah, one of the actors, revealed the film’s emphasis on fine arts.
