A new Kannada film titled The 1979 Untold Story is set for release under the banner Manam Movie Makers. The film is directed by Pushpa Raj and produced by Beeramanahalli M. Srinivas.
The film is a fictional narrative based on real incidents that took place in Bengal in 1979. While the story is set against a Bengal backdrop, the entire film has been shot in Kolar. The makers state that the film deals with themes related to politics, power, administration, self-respect, pain, and violence.
The teaser of the film was released on January 23 on the Music Bazaar YouTube channel. The teaser indicates that the story is rooted in realism and presents events connected to social and political circumstances. The background score featured in the teaser has also been highlighted by the team.
According to the makers, the trailer and songs of the film will be released in the coming days. Although the official release date has not been announced, the team has indicated that the film is expected to be released in February.
The film features Ajju, Sujith, Pranvi Gowda, and Amrutha Gowda in lead roles. Cinematography has been handled by Chalaky Charan, while music has been composed by Jashwanth Vasuvuletti.
With a cast and crew comprising emerging talents, The 1979 Untold Story is positioned as a new addition to the ongoing experimental narratives in the Kannada film industry.
