Sandalwood Queen Ramya’s production house, AppleBox Studios, is set to captivate audiences with its debut production, “Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye,” hitting screens on November 24. Penned and directed by Raj B Shetty, the film stars Siri Ravikumar in the lead role alongside him.
The trailer, unveiled last week, has resonated with movie enthusiasts, generating heightened anticipation among film buffs. Raj B Shetty, known for his distinctive directorial style, shares insights into the genesis of the film’s narrative. “The inspiration for this story struck me when a woman, practically a stranger, called me. The concept revolves around women who, despite leading seemingly ordinary lives, often suppress their emotions and feel overlooked. It delves into the hollowness they experience,” reveals Raj.
The film’s setting holds special significance in Raj’s creative process. The second half of the script was crafted at the very location where the film was shot. Raj acknowledges Ramya’s pivotal role in securing the ideal shooting location. “Ramya played a crucial role in selecting this space, connecting us with the owners and facilitating the entire process,” discloses Raj.
“Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye” unfolds within the poignant backdrop of a hospice, weaving a poignant narrative of love, life, and human connections. Siri Ravikumar portrays Prerana, a counselor in the hospice, while Raj B Shetty takes on the role of Aniketh, a terminally ill individual seeking palliative care. The ensemble cast includes Balaji Manohar, Surya Vasishta, Rekha Kudligi, JP Tuminadu, Sneha Sharma, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Venkat Rao, Sharadha GS, and Sandhya Arakere.
The musical score, composed by Midhun Mukundan, enhances the emotional depth of the film, complemented by the cinematography of Praveen Shriyan. “Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye” is set to enrapture audiences statewide as it gets a wide release across Karnataka through KRG Studios.
