One of the legendary writers in Kannada literature and a stalwart in making meaningful films in Kannada, Prof. Baraguru Ramachandrappa, has silently completed ‘Swapnamantapa,’ featuring the talented Vijay Raghavendra and Ranjani Raghavan. Both actors have enacted double roles for the first time in their film careers.
Mysore-based Babu Naik is the producer of this Kannada film titled ‘Swapnamantapa,’ under Malai Mahadeshwara Enterprises. The film is based on Baraguru Ramachandrappa’s novel of the same name. Baraguru Ramachandrappa himself directed the screenplay, dialogues, and lyrics.
The film ‘Swapnamantapa’ has already completed shooting and dubbing. The shooting took place in a village on Kanakapura Road. Hosamane Murthy created the set for the shoot of this film.
The film ‘Swapnamantapa’ has a plot that advocates the protection of heritage sites. When some people attempt to demolish a dream hall built by a king in a village, the protagonist and heroine organize people to save the dream hall and uplift the legacy of historical monuments by adding it to the government’s official monument list.
In this social film, the story of the king and queen who built the dream hall is also included through the flashback technique.
Vijay Raghavendra and Ranjini Raghavan played the roles of hero and heroine, respectively. The fact that both of them acted in dual roles is a special feature of the movie. Besides them, Sundarraj, Sobharaghavendra, Rajani, Mahalakshmi, Sundararaja Arasu, Rajappalvai, Ambareesh Sarangi, Mysore Manjula, Ummattur Basavaraju, Venkataraju, Sivalingaprasad, Bharathiramesh, and Gundi Ramesh are in the cast.
The film features cinematography by Nagaraja Advani, editing by Suresh Urs, music direction by Shamita Malnad, and choreography by Tribhuvan. Nataraj Shiva and Praveen are the co-directors.
