Suram Movies has announced its fourth production titled LSD (Lyla’s Sweet Dream). The film is directed by young filmmaker Shaktiprasad and features Chaitra J Achar in the lead role. The title teaser of the film was released recently, following which members of the film team spoke about the project.
Produced by Jayaram Devasamudra under the Suram Movies banner, LSD marks the production house’s fourth film. Jayaram Devasamudra stated that Nidradevi Next Door was the banner’s first production, followed by Ugrayaadham starring Srimurali and Nee Nange Alva, both of which are currently under production. He said the primary objective of Suram Movies is to provide opportunities to new talent, and that he decided to produce LSD after listening to Shaktiprasad’s story. He also confirmed that Chaitra J Achar, M.D. Pallavi, and Avinash play key roles in the film.
Director Shaktiprasad said he has previously made several short films with his team and that LSD is his first feature film for the big screen. He thanked the producer for the opportunity and clarified that LSD stands for Lyla’s Sweet Dream. He described the film as having a different narrative structure and said it also focuses on a mother–daughter relationship. Chaitra J Achar plays the lead role, while M.D. Pallavi portrays her mother. Senior actor Avinash appears in the role of a businessman. Shaktiprasad also said Mithun Mukundan is the music director, Ritesh is the cinematographer, and Balaram is the editor. One schedule of shooting has already been completed, and the second schedule is set to begin from January 15.
Actor Chaitra J Achar said Shaktiprasad narrated the story to her around one and a half years ago, after which she agreed to be part of the project. She mentioned that although the story had earlier been narrated to producers from other languages, it was not made in those languages as the director wanted to make the film in Kannada. She added that she is playing a role different from her previous work.
Actor M.D. Pallavi said she is returning to films after a few years and that she came to know about the project through Chaitra J Achar. She stated that she plays the role of Chaitra’s mother in the film. Senior actor Avinash said he has worked with many film teams earlier, and in LSD, he plays the role of a businessman. Music director Midhun Mukundan and cinematographer Ritesh also spoke briefly about their respective contributions to the film.
