It was special that the trailer of the film “STAR”, made entirely by newcomers, was unveiled by Ramesh, a security guard at Sri Renukamba Preview Talkies. Under the Lion Creations banner, Sharath Prakash has produced the film and also acted as the lead. Vijaya Surya has written the story and directed the film. The tagline is “Close to the Earth”. Sharat is the son of noted action director of Kannada cinema.

The cast includes Sharath Prakash, Rajatharaksha, and theatre artistes. Vikas Vasishta has composed music for three songs. Cinematography is by APSK, background score by Vinumanasu, editing by Shashidhar P, and digital promotion by Pavankumar.

Speaking later, the producer said that his father Prakash Anna had appeared as a fighter in films from earlier times. After becoming the winner of “Pyate Mandi Kaadige Bandaru” Season-2, several opportunities came his way. Even though he had acted in small roles in 25 films so far, he had not received a breakthrough. He liked the one-line narrated by the director. Apart from rowdyism, the film also includes a father-daughter bond, motherly relationship, and love, which together will entertain the audience, said Sharath Prakash.

According to the director, there are fights between gangs and some games. How the protagonist faces all this forms the crux. While watching each scene, incidents that feel like they happened in our own area come before our eyes. The reason why the hero gets the name “Star” will be revealed when watching the film. Shooting has been done in local slums of Bengaluru. Rowdyism begins due to both personal and professional reasons. Opportunities have been given to theatre artistes, informed Vijaya Surya. Director promises to give fresh and new thoughts in his screenplay.

Though he is a rowdy, his behaviour that melts like butter in front of me becomes a weapon for the opponent—what happens next gives a twist to the story through my character. There are unpredictable characters, says heroine Rajatharaksha.
