Recently, Sriimurali launched the trailer of Pratyartha and wished the film great success. Directed by Arjun Kamath from Karkala, Udupi, the movie is set to hit screens on the 28th of this month. The film team spoke at a press meet organized to share details about the project.
Director Arjun Kamath described Pratyartha as a film that aligns with audience expectations from a fresh team in Kannada cinema. He encouraged Kannada audiences to proudly recommend the film to non-Kannada viewers. He stated that the movie follows an investigative thriller narrative, adding, “Everything has meaning, and that’s what Pratyartha signifies. Though the title is an old one, it perfectly suits our film. Understanding what kind of stories today’s youth prefer, my friends Ram and I took a year to craft this script.” Producers Nagesh M, Jai R Prabhu, Nityananda Pai, Premkumar V, and Bharat Shetty supported bringing this story to life on screen.
The film follows a dual-shaded storyline, with Ram and Akshay Karkala playing the lead roles, while Shruti Chandrashekhar stars as the female lead. The cast also includes Suman Talwar, Naveen D. Padil, Ramesh Bhat, and Deepak Rai. The film’s music is composed by Sunad Gowtham, and Vinuth handles the cinematography.
Director Arjun Kamath thanked Sriimurali for unveiling the trailer and urged audiences to watch and support the film when it releases on the 28th.
“I am new to the film industry but a passionate cinephile. I never missed watching the weekly movie screenings on Chandanavahini. This film is born out of my love for cinema,” said Jai R Prabhu of Visishta Films, one of the producers.
“Dreams are envisioned by newcomers, but it is producers who turn them into reality. Hence, my first thanks go to them,” said lead actor Ram, who plays Ayush, a college student. He also collaborated with the director in writing the script.
Actor Akshay Karkala, who has been involved with the project since its scripting stage, mentioned that he is portraying a unique role. Meanwhile, lead actress Shruti Chandrashekhar revealed that she plays a character named Priya.
Music director Sunad Gowtham shared that the film features two songs sung by Vasuki Vaibhav and Rajath Hegde.
