Dasavarenya Sri Vijayadasaru, a pivotal figure in the ‘Bhakti Pantha’, is poised to grace the screens under the direction of Madhusoodhan Havaldar on April 12.
Trivikrama Joshi, a renowned industrialist and the film’s producer, celebrates his hat-trick with this production. Having portrayed Sri Vijayadasaru in the preceding films—Sri Jagannatha Dasaru Part I and Sri Prasanna Venkatadasaru—Joshi now presents a comprehensive portrayal of the iconic saint of the ‘Dasa Parampare’.
The release date announcement for Dasavarenya Sri Vijaya Dasaru on April 12 was made by the team at Sri Renukamba Digital Theater, following a screening of three songs. Union Minister Prahallad Joshi had previously unveiled the devotional film’s Five Songs.
Emphasizing the significance of such films in today’s context, Trivikrama Joshi, who essays the role of Sri Vijaya Dasaru, remarked on the sparse focus on ‘Dasa Parampare’ in Kannada film history. Notably, Raichur district boasts over 60 eminent Hari Dasa saints, each making substantial contributions.
Trivikrama Joshi, a mechanical engineer turned industrialist with close ties to BJP national leaders, brings his infectious enthusiasm to the portrayal of ‘Dasavarenya Sri Vijayadasaru’. He believes that his performance in the songs resonates authentically with the character.
Reflecting on the success of Sri Jagannathdasru’s film, Joshi expressed optimism for the forthcoming release and urged support from audiences, noting that overseas ticket bookings have already commenced.
Following the success of “Sri Jagannath Dasaru” and “Shri Prasanna Venkatadasaru,” SPJ Movies presents “Dasavarenya Sri Vijayadasaru,” chronicling the life of Vijayadasa, another revered Haridasa of Karnataka, hitting theaters on April 12.
Director Madhusudhan Havaldar stressed the film’s focus on the ‘Bhakti Movement’, aiming to inspire viewers towards virtuous deeds. With several quality productions in the pipeline, including the anticipated Sri Jagannatha Dasaru Part II, scheduled for release in November.
Srilata, a software professional, portrays Vijayadasa’s wife Aralamma, alongside Prabhanjan Deshpande, Vijayananda Naik, and former MLA Basavan Gowda in the ensemble cast.
Vijay Krishna composes the music, with JM Prahlad penning the screenplay and dialogues. The shoot traversed locations such as Hampi and Kanakagiri.
In the role of Sri Purandara Dasa, Vijayananda Nayak, a software professional from Intel, expressed gratitude for the opportunity, having observed the audience’s enthusiasm for such films.
Raju, the film’s distributor, strategizes the screening timing across 45-plus theaters to ensure maximum community engagement, aided by partner Anand.
