Rishab Shetty Films is moving forward with another intriguing Kannada film, Laughing Buddha, which focuses on the lives of police department employees. At a well-attended gathering on Wednesday morning, the first of four songs from Laughing Buddha was released.

The song “Entha Chandane Ivalu,” written by K. Kalyan for the film Laughing Buddha, was recently unveiled. The film is produced by Rishab Shetty, directed by Bharat Raj, and features Pramod Shetty in his first lead role. The music for the film is composed by Vishnu Vijay.

Director Bharat Raj, who previously helmed Hero, has crafted a story that resonated deeply with me, said Rishab Shetty. Together, we decided to cast Pramod Shetty as the hero. Now, a song written by one of my favorite lyricists, Kalyan, has been released. The trailer will be released on August 15, and the film is set to hit theaters on August 30.

The story revolves around a policeman’s family and their emotions. Pramod Shetty plays the role of a police constable named Govardhana, while Teju Belavadi portrays Satyavathi. Diganth Manchale’s role will remain a mystery until the film’s release. Most of the filming took place in and around Bhadravati and Kargal, with cinematography by KS Chandrasekhar and editing by KM Prakash. In China, “Buddha” was known for bringing joy to children by giving them sweets. Similarly, the character of Govardhan in our film is intended to bring joy to everyone, said director Bharat Raj.

Pramod Shetty expressed surprise when Rishab and Bharat Raj offered him the lead role. After hearing the story, he was immediately drawn to it. For this role, he had to gain weight, putting on thirty kilograms, which he later lost by eating home-cooked food. He mentioned that he consumed a lot of food for the role, making it a unique experience. Pramod Shetty also recalled Rishab Shetty’s words: “I am investing in the story, not in my personality.”

Diganth Manchale, who plays a special and intriguing character, mentioned that the role was originally intended for Rishab Shetty. He didn’t reveal much about his character but urged Rishab to recommend him for roles Rishab is unable to take.

Heroine Teju Belavadi shared her experience playing Satyavathi and discussed issues like body shaming and insecurity. She expressed how much she enjoyed working on Rishab Shetty’s films. Retired police officer Umesh, who plays the role of an SP in the film, explained that obesity is a significant issue in the police department and that his involvement in the film was a fascinating journey.

Famous lyricist K. Kalyan reminisced about writing the song “Entha Chandane Ivalu.” Karthik Gowda of KRG Studios, the film’s distributor, and cinematographer KS Chandrasekhar were also present at the media briefing.

Rishab Shetty intends to dedicate Laughing Buddha to the police department.
