One of the most anticipated films in Kannada cinema, starring Yogi and directed by Vijayaprasad, is slated for release on February 14. The pre-release event of the movie took place on Sunday night at MMB Legacy in the city. At this grand event, ‘Duniya’ Vijay, known as the ‘Sandalwood Salaga,’ unveiled the song titled ‘Churumuri’ from the film.

Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Kumar said, “Before I became a hero, Vijayaprasad gave me opportunities to grow by casting me in small roles in his serials. He’s a highly talented director who made every household in Karnataka watch ‘Silli Lalli.’ Now he’s brought us a family-friendly film amidst all the action-packed ones. This film indicates that good cinema is still alive. Thanks to Yogi for being part of this film. I hope this continues and leads to ‘Sidlingu 3’ with another great story.”

Expressing his admiration for Yogi, Vijay Kumar added, “I’m a big fan of Yogi. He confidently stands up for any role. He has unique talent and needs the right scripts to become an even greater actor. If no one else stands by him, I will always support him and never abandon him. I want to showcase something different with him. This film has a good vibe with talented artists and technicians.”

Lead actor Yogi shared, “Everyone loved the first Sidlingu. We believe the second part will also be appreciated by all. The first film was a different kind of movie for Kannada cinema, and this is a continuation of that. Working with Vijayaprasad is a joy as he brings out the best in everyone. When no one believed in us, Hari and Raju trusted us and came forward to produce this film. I’m forever indebted to them. Today, my maava (uncle) has come to launch the trailer. When I was young and called him maava, he would scold me, telling me to call him Kumar. For the first time, I’m calling him maava on stage, and I’ll continue to do so wherever I meet him. Our team wanted him for this event, and he graciously agreed. Thank you for being here.”

Director Vijayaprasad remarked, “Sidlingu isn’t just a good man for society; he’s a responsible citizen for the country. When it comes to work, he should be remembered, but for ideals, he can be forgotten. That’s the kind of lively character this film portrays.”

Present at the event were Yogi’s father and producer T.P. Siddharaju, actress Sonu Gowda, actor-director B. Suresha, Manjunath Hegde, Seetha Kote, music director Anoop Seelin, lyricist Arasu Anthare, Anthony Kamal, and several cast and crew members. Vijay Kumar was also honored during the occasion.

‘Sidlingu 2,’ produced by Srihari and Raju Sherigar, features Yogi, Sonu Gowda, Suman Ranganath, Seetha Kote, Mahantesh, Anthony Kamal, and Manjunath Hegde in key roles. The film boasts cinematography by Prasanna Gurlakere, music by Anoop Seelin, and editing by Akshay P. Rao.
