The trailer and title song of the movie Shanubhogara Magalu, starring Ragini Prajwal, were recently released. Film Chamber President N.M. Suresh and veteran actor Ramesh Bhat released the trailer and extended their best wishes to the film. Directed by Kudlu Ramakrishna, the film is based on the novel of the same name by Mrs. Bhagya Krishnamurthy. The movie has received a U/A certification and is ready for release.

Known for his contributions of unique cinematic styles to the Kannada film industry, Kudlu Ramakrishna has written the screenplay and directed the movie. Ragini Prajwal, wife of Prajwal Devaraj, plays the role of Shanubhogara Magalu. Filming locations included Mysore, Srirangapatna, Melukote, Channapatna, and around Chikkaballapur.

At the event, author Bhagya Krishnamurthy shared her thoughts, saying, “I am a journalist and have written 32 novels, one of which is Abhinethri. This novel, published as a series in Taranga magazine in 2004, is fictional, yet some incidents have an uncanny resemblance to real events.”

Swastik Shankar, who took responsibility for the movie, added, “Producer C.M. Narayan is a friend of mine. This is a female-centric story. Despite facing multiple challenges, the movie has turned out very well.”

Ragini Prajwal, who portrays Sharavati in Shanubhogara Magalu, said, “After a long break, I returned to acting for this film. I am primarily a classical dancer and even dubbed my voice for this role. I performed emotional scenes without glycerin, and we put our hearts into making this movie.”

Director Kudlu Ramakrishna mentioned that the movie came about unexpectedly. “Bhagya has been my friend for 35 years, and 14 of my 32 films have been adaptations of novels. This story is set in the 18th century, and actress Rishika has played the second lead,” he said.

Produced by C.M. Narayan under the Bhuvan Films banner, the movie features Jai Anand’s cinematography, B.S. Kemparaj’s editing, Vasanth Kulkarni’s art direction, lyrics by Kaviraj and Arasu Anthare, music by Ramesh Krishnan, production management by Karan Mayur, and assistant direction by S. Nagaraj Rao and Raghu Kalpatharu. B.A. Madhu has crafted the dialogues.
