The sequel to the highly successful film by the prolific director Nagashekhar, ‘Sanju Weds Geetha 2’, is currently in rapid production at a private farmhouse on Kanakapura Road.
During a media visit to the location on Monday, the focus was on celebrating the 10th anniversary of the lead characters’ wedding. Ace cameraman Sathya Hegde captured the moment when the protagonist Srinagara Kitty presented a luxury car to the female lead, Rachita Ram.
While the climax of ‘Sanju Weds Geetha’ in the 2011 Kannada film marked the end of the main characters, director Nagashekhar, after 12 years, reintroduces the same actor without repeating Ramya. Instead, he brings in the charming heroine Rachita Ram for the sequel. The film, which began shooting four months ago, is progressing rapidly, with Nagashekhar’s good friend Mabi Narayan and engineering classmate Kumar serving as producers.
In the supporting cast, Nagashekhar is bringing in stalwart actors like Rangayana Raghu and Sadhu Kokila for crucial roles. Renowned composer Sridhar Sambram is set to provide enchanting tunes, a trademark of Nagashekhar films that never lack in captivating songs. Shooting in Bengaluru commences on December 2, followed by a 12-day schedule in Switzerland starting on December 9. Subsequent schedules will take place in Mumbai and Hyderabad, with the aim of releasing the film on April 1, 2024—coinciding with the release date of the first part on April 1, 2011. The trailer is set to be released on December 29, coinciding with producer Chalavadi Kumar’s birthday, as announced by the director Nagashekhar.
Music composer Sridhar Sambram expresses his good fortune in scoring music for five songs, with Kaviraj contributing beautiful lyrics to the film. Although Rangayana Raghu is unaware of his role, he welcomes producer Chalavadi Kumar, while Sadhu Kokila is confident of delivering a significant performance.
