Coming a week later, Sanju Weds Geetha II, which has given the experience of conducting a marriage for the director with the hat-trick crown, Nagashekhar, is hitting the silver screen on the 17th of January in over 250 screens. Of these, nearly 150 are single screens, and the rest are multiplex screens.
A grand production with high-profile artists and technicians, Sanju Weds Geetha II features a tender love story and content about a silk farmer from Sidlaghatta who travels all the way to Switzerland to solve farmers’ problems. Rachita Ram plays the female lead opposite Srinagar Kitty in this film.
The film, which was supposed to be released last Friday, has been postponed by a week due to a stay order. The teaser of this film, which has already won the hearts of moviegoers through its beautiful songs, was released on Monday evening. Writer and music director Dr. V. Nagendra Prasad released the teaser.
Speaking later, he said, “I also come from a family of weavers. I know what their hardships are. This film also has a story about the achievements of a weaver. The highlight of the film is the visual treatment. Satya Hegde has done wonderful camera work. I had written a song for the previous Sanju Weds Geetha film. Now Kaviraj has written it. Good luck to the team,” said Dr. V. Nagendra Prasad. He also recalled that Srinagar Kitty is from the same batch as Golden Star Ganesh and Duniya Vijay. The two stars of 2006 and 2007 have given super hits. “I want Srinagar Kitty to join that list,” he said.
Speaking to the film’s distributor, Gokul Raj, he said that the making and content of the film are very good. He mentioned that it is advantageous that the release was postponed by a week. He explained that they are releasing it in 60 to 70 single screens and 40 to 50 multiplexes.
Music director Sridhar V. Sambhram said that it was a good sign that his guru, Nagendra Prasad, had come that day. “The film has turned out very well,” he said, adding that Sangeetha had sung the song initially meant to be sung by Shreya Ghoshal.
Director Nagashekhar said, “We are releasing it only in Karnataka this week. We will release it abroad next week. I also tried to get Shreya to sing. When I found out that she was not interested, we finalized the voice of the singer who recorded the track. As they say, everything happens for a good reason, so we are still getting good theaters this week,” he said.
Producer Chalavadi Kumar said that they have made a good movie and requested everyone to support it.
Srinagar Kitty, addressing the media meet before the release, said that there was no initial plan to make a trailer. “We have cut a one-minute trailer. Nagendra Prasad has launched it, and we immensely thank him,” he said.
Along with Gokul Raj, Pawan, the son of Simhadriya Simha producer Vijayakumar, is dedicated to releasing the film Sanju Weds Geetha II.
