Sanju Weds Geetha – 2, which had faced multiple challenges at the time of its release, has now completed 25 successful days in theatres. The film’s success was celebrated on Wednesday evening at a special event held at Hyde Park Hotel, where actor-director Upendra was the chief guest.

Produced by Chalavadi Kumar and directed by Nagashekar, Sanju Weds Geetha – 2 was initially released in a rush due to unavoidable circumstances. Although the film received praise for its songs and cinematography, the director felt something was missing. Just two days after release, the film was withdrawn from theatres, re-edited with 21 minutes of new emotional content, and re-released on June 6. The new version was positively received by audiences and industry peers alike.

Several film personalities including Dr. Shivarajkumar, R. Chandru, Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar, K.M. Chaitanya, Suni, Dayal Padmanabhan, and S. Mahendar appreciated the re-released version. Director Upendra, who distributed mementoes to the film team at the event, said he attended the celebration to encourage bold producers like Chalavadi Kumar. He remarked that sustaining a film in theatres for 25 days today is equivalent to earlier 100-day runs, due to changing dynamics in cinema distribution.

Actor and Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy Chairman Sadhu Kokila also addressed the gathering, stating that both Nagashekar and Upendra are true lovers of cinema, and that the industry needs more such films during a challenging time.

Producer Chalavadi Kumar thanked Upendra for accepting the invitation and shared his intention to produce more quality films in the future. Cinematographer Satya Hegde credited the success to producer Kumar and director Nagashekar.

Other attendees included music director Sridhar V. Sambhram, publicist Nagendra, lead actor Srinagar Kitty, lyricist Kaviraj, and dialogue writer D.K. Chakravarthy — all of whom received mementoes and expressed appreciation for the team.

Senior police officials including ADGP Arun Chakravarthy, ACP Poornachandra Tejaswi, Inspector Arun, Forest Officer Dr. Raju, and Executive Director (Education) Chandrashekhar were also present as special guests and spoke about the film.

Shyam of Anand Audio, stunt director Different Danny, and Digital Srinath were among others who were felicitated during the celebration.
