Director Nagasekhar, renowned for crafting haunting love stories on screen, has once again gifted Kannada cinephiles with a captivating tale. Keeping the title “Sanju Weds Geeta,” which graced screens under his direction a decade ago, he now presents “Sanju Weds Geeta-2,” showcasing an innovative love narrative.
Recently, the filming of a song featuring Srinagar Kitty and Rachitha Ram in lead roles occurred. This song, a lively celebration marking the wedding anniversary of protagonists Sanju and Geetha, prominently features the stunning Ragini Dwivedi in a special role. Shot at the glass house of BGS High School, Kumbalgodu, the song boasts a vibrant ensemble of 200 to 250 dancers. Renowned singer Mangli lends her voice to this track, choreographed by Bajrangi Mohan, anticipated to become the year’s standout hit. Director Nagashekhar reveals that most of the film’s shooting is complete, with only minor additions remaining, including two fight sequences and one song.
Set against the backdrop of silk yarn trade, this film narrates a poignant love saga of native lovers. The editing phase is wrapped up, and dubbing is nearing completion. The third phase of filming took place in Switzerland across eleven locations over a span of 15 days, featuring a lavish song sequence shot for five days at UB Stead Farm (Horse Farm) in Kunigal, with a budget of Rs.50 lakhs.
Emphasizing the significance of music alongside the screenplay, producer Chhalavadi Kumar ensures a lavish production. Additionally, the songs, performed by artists from Hassan and Haveri, are presented grandly.
The film, boasting a story and screenplay by Nagasekhar, helmed by Sridhar V. Sambhram, features five songs. Renowned artists such as Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Mangli Dhani, Ragini Dwivedi, Chetan Chandra (in a cameo), along with Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, Tabalanani, Gitchigiligili Vinod, and antagonist Sampath Kumar, shine in this cinematic endeavor. A24 Creations, in collaboration with Gokul Films, is set to release the film worldwide.
