The life story of Padma Shri Saalumarada Thimmakka, known for nurturing countless trees and becoming a role model worldwide, is being made into a film.
Actress Soujanya plays the role of Saalumarada Thimmakka, and the film is directed by Orata Shree. The movie is produced under the banner of Shree Lakshmi Venkateshwara Pictures by Dileep Kumar H.R., Soujanya D.V., A. Santosh Murali, and Orata Shree.
The film is based on the book Vrikshamate Saalumarada Thimmakka authored by Dr. Nellikatte S. Siddesh. Orata Shree, known for directing Orata I Love You, is directing an artistic film and is handling the action sequences for the first time.
Neenasam Ashwath plays the role of Thimmakka’s husband. The cast also includes M.K. Matha, Ganesh K. Sarkar, Deep D.K., Anjanamma, Bhoomika, Prakash Shetty, and Manu.
The shooting recently began and is taking place around Hulikal and Madhugiri in Tumkur district. The first phase of shooting has been completed, and the second schedule is scheduled to begin next week.
The film’s cinematography is by Nagaraj, editing by K. Girish Kumar, and music direction by Shyam. Dialogues and lyrics have been written by Nellikatte Siddesh and Orata Shree.
The film’s title was recently unveiled by senior writer, journalist, and chairperson of the State Women’s Commission, Mrs. Nagalakshmi Bai.
