S Narayan, a celebrated director known for his remarkable filmography and the unique distinction of having directed all the leading stars of Kannada cinema, is on the brink of directing his 50th film. With a career spanning over 33 years, his contribution to the industry is truly commendable.

During the teaser launch of ‘Gangster Alla Pranksker’, where he graced the event as the chief guest alongside Karnataka’s Minister of Social Welfare, Dr. HC Mahadevappa, S Narayan voiced a crucial suggestion. He stressed that it’s crucial for Kannada superstars to consider working in at least two films annually. This earnest plea stems from his concerns about the potential closure of theaters.

In the bygone era, Kannada films struggled to secure a limited number of theaters in Kannada Nadu. The landscape transformed as the Kannada film industry shifted from Chennai to Karnataka. The number of cinema halls increased, resulting in favorable outcomes. However, the present scenario is different, marked by a scarcity of films featuring superstars, thereby endangering the sustainability of theaters.

S Narayan also drew attention to the impending closure of approximately 150 single-screen theaters. To prevent such a grim situation, he advocated for a consistent flow of films to keep exhibition halls operational. Releasing two major films starring superstars each month would substantially support the exhibitors in maintaining their businesses.

The widespread survival of theaters across Karnataka hinges on a healthy influx of films. S Narayan emphasized that superstars can play a pivotal role in safeguarding the cinema exhibition sector by committing to act in a minimum of two films per year.

Commending the quality of ‘Gangster Alla Prankster’, S Narayan emphasized the significance of morally enriched films that possess quality. He asserted that such films are more likely to capture extensive attention from the audience.
