The filming of ‘Venkya,’ the latest project by National Award-winning filmmaker Sagar Puranik, is currently in full swing, showcasing his versatility as he takes on both the role of director and lead actor. Adding to the excitement, the Venkya team has welcomed a talented young actress, Rupali Sood, known for her captivating presence in Shimla Sundari.
Hailing from Shimla, Rupali’s journey into the limelight began during her college days when she ventured into the world of modeling. This multifaceted talent, who has graced numerous music albums alongside her modeling career, gained widespread recognition for her appearance in the chart-topping track ‘Horn Blow’ with Hardy Sandhu. Now, Rupali takes on a prominent role in Venkya, marking a significant milestone in her acting career.
Currently immersed in the filming of Venkya, Rupali embodies the character of a hillbilly girl from Himachal Pradesh. Reflecting on her experiences on set, she shares, “We recently filmed in Kailong, nestled amidst the breathtaking scenery near Manali, capturing the essence of the mountains.” She expresses her joy, stating, “This marks a promising beginning to my journey in the world of cinema.”
Supporting Sagar Puranik’s vision, Pawan Wodeyar, the producer of the acclaimed movie ‘Dollu,’ has lent his backing to Venkya. Additionally, Avinash V Rai and Mohanlal Menon join as co-producers under the banner of Wodeyar Films. Set against the backdrop of North Karnataka, Venkya features a compelling screenplay and dialogues crafted by Srinidhi DS, captivating cinematography by Pranav Mule, and enchanting music composed by Hemant Jois.
