The makers of Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups have revealed Rukmini Vasanth as Mellisa, the latest character to be introduced from the film. The project stars Yash in the lead and is directed by Geetu Mohandas.
Rukmini Vasanth’s role marks her collaboration with Yash under the direction of Geetu Mohandas. The film is positioned as a large-scale action drama and is being developed with an international scope. The introduction of her character follows earlier reveals of Kiara Advani as Nadia, Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth, Nayanthara as Ganga, and Tara Sutaria as Rebecca.
According to the makers, Mellisa is presented in a setting that appears to be a party sequence from the late 1960s. The visual places the character amid a crowded, celebratory environment, with her portrayal marked by composure and intent as she moves through the space.
Director Geetu Mohandas shared her experience of working with Rukmini Vasanth, stating that the actor approaches her roles with a strong emphasis on understanding and inquiry. She noted that Vasanth engages deeply with the material, often reflecting on her character and documenting her observations during the shoot.
Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Mohandas. The film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and other languages.
The technical crew includes cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, music composer Ravi Basrur, editor Ujwal Kulkarni, and production designer TP Abid. The action sequences are choreographed by Hollywood action director JJ Perry, along with Anbariv and Kecha Khamphakdee.
The film is produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under the banners of KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is scheduled for a theatrical release on 19 March 2026, coinciding with Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa.
