R.S.P. is expanding its business portfolio from chit funds and financing to the realm of entertainment with its latest venture, a psycho-thriller titled “Usiru.” The title unveiling ceremony was conducted by producer Lakshmi Harish and the Renukamba Digital Theater team.

Lakshmi Harish, leading the RSP group of companies, considers this new production a dream project as it continues to attract talented individuals. Lakshmi Harish emphasized that RSP stands for the starting letters of their children’s names.

Director Prabhakar narrated the storyline, focusing on an irresponsible police officer tasked with protecting his wife from an anonymous threat while seeking revenge for his mother’s killers. The film’s muhurta took place in Madikeri on the 17th of this month, with Prabhakar conducting workshops for the team. With 12 years of industry experience, Prabhakar described the film as a birth-and-death saga, featuring only nine crucial characters.

“Usiru” revolves around a psycho-thriller plot, and the cast includes Tilak as the police officer, Priya Hegde as the heroine, and Raghu Ramankoppa and Rangayana Raghu in supporting roles. The initial 15-day shoot will take place around Madikeri before shifting to Bangalore.

The film draws inspiration from the Kannada film “Rama Lakshmana,” particularly the song line: ‘Heliddu Sullagabahudu, Nodiddu Sullagabahudu, Nidhanisi Yochisidaaga Nijavu Tilivudu.’

Ganesh Narayan, in his 25th year in the cine industry, serves as the music director. He expressed his enthusiasm for the story’s situations and composed four songs of different genres. This marks his 50th film since his debut with “Heart Beats.”

Bhairava Rama, formerly known as Abhi, is the intuitive lyricist and dialogue writer for the film. Priya Hegde, the female lead, commended the film’s concept and title, describing her role as having two shades. Newcomer Santhosh, from a theater background, expressed the emotional depth of his first film role.

Apoorva, a Bharatanatyam artiste, theater actress, and director, shared her perspective, while film editor Harish Komme discussed his role post-shooting completion.
