In a remarkable turn of events, the prestigious Sri Raghavendra Chitravani celebrated its 23rd annual awards for the year 2023 with a grand ceremony at the Kalavidhara Bhavana Dr Ambarish Auditorium on the evening of the 27th. Once again, RCV showcased its trademark hospitality and organizational prowess, setting a standard that stands out in the realm of awards events.
Adding to the significance, the upcoming 25th RCV awards will be bestowed upon during the Golden Jubilee year of Sri Raghavendra Chitravani, marking another milestone in the organization’s illustrious history.
Noteworthy attendees at the 23rd RCV awards included esteemed journalists Dr. Vijaya, Muralidhar Khajane, BN Subramanya, and the dynamic journalist Dr. Sharan Hullur, all of whom were honored for their contributions.
The enchanting performance of the song “Shambo Shiva Shambo” by Sougandhika and Souparnika, granddaughters of the late DV Sudheendra, founder of Sri Raghavendra Chitravani, captivated the audience. Additionally, a visual retrospective highlighting the growth of Sri Raghavendra Chitravani was presented during the evening.
Celebrated actors Shashikumar and Mari Tiger Vinod Prabhakar graced the occasion as chief guests, adding to the star-studded affair.
The event, skillfully conducted by top anchor Anusha Lakkanna, featured articulate expressions and acknowledgments for the achievements of the evening’s award winners. Narahari, son of Hunsur Krishnamurthy, presented a comprehensive analysis book to BS Lingadevaru, a nationally acclaimed award-winning director, to aid him in his cinematic endeavors.
Dodmane daughter Poornima Ramkumar, Dr. Vijaya, KFCC President NM Suresh, KFPA President Umesh Banakar, Thara Anuradha, Sudheendra Venkatesh, DS Sunil, and DG Vasudev joined on stage for the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony.
Sudheendra Venkatesh, in his welcome speech, credited Dr. Vijayamma for the organization’s growth and expressed gratitude for the support received from various figures in the cinema industry.
Malashri accepted the RCV awards on behalf of her late husband, renowned producer Ramu, while senior journalist Muralidhar Khajane and BN Subramanya received RCV felicitation and honor, respectively, for their outstanding contributions at the national level.
Esteemed director Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar, feeling a sense of familial recognition, praised the close connection he shares with Sri Raghavendra Chitravani and lauded the qualities of Sudheendra Venkatesh (DG Venkatesh).
Actor Shashikumar, reminiscing about the past, highlighted the diminishing camaraderie between media and film teams today, emphasizing the isolated nature of modern living, akin to living with a ‘Pisachi’ (Devil).
The prestigious RCV awards were conferred upon Dr. Sunder Raj, Jo Costa, Hemanth Kumar, Hemanth Rao, Sindhu Srinivasamurthy, Thara Anuradha, Dolly Dhananjay (represented by Thara Anuradha), Dubai Vijayalakshmi, BS Lingadevaru, and Sharan Hullur.
In a generous gesture, the Sri Raghavendra Chitravani team, consisting of DG Venkatesh (Sudheendra Venkatesh), DS Sunil, DG Vasu, and family members, treated nearly 225 guests to a sumptuous dinner featuring Jilebees and Rumal Roti as special menu items.
