The motion poster for ‘Ranaaksha’ was jointly unveiled during a regular event by KFCC President NM Suresh and Kannada Film Producers Association President Umesh Banakar. Hanumantharayappa, one of the three esteemed guests at the occasion, joined in the release.

What sets this suspense thriller, ‘Ranaaksha,’ apart is the early transition of the promising comedy actor in TV and Cinema, Seerunde Raghu, into a hero. Following the footsteps of a few popular comedy actors, he is taking on the role of a lead actor, reminiscent of Dharmanna Kodur in last year’s successful ‘Rajayoga’ Kannada cinema.

Adding to the intrigue of ‘Ranaaksha’ is the fact that, starting from the title, the director, producer, hero, and both heroines all have names beginning with the letter R. The producer, Ramu, a humble agriculturist running Brindavana Enterprises, placed his trust in director Raghu and his narrative concept.

Director Raghav, in his second Kannada film after ‘Mareyade Kshamisu,’ has chosen a suspense thriller for ‘Ranaaksha.’ Comedy actor Raghu, aka Seerunde Raghu, is stepping into the role of a hero, blending elements of class and mass with less emphasis on comedy. The film was shot in various locations, including Honnavara, Udupi, and Karkala, for three songs and three action sequences. Explaining the film’s title, director Rana Haddu states that ‘Akshi’ means eyes, and the protagonist, like a vulture guarding, serves as the protector in the film.

Seerunde Raghu, known for his comedy television serials, found the action sequences challenging, as expressed by action director Johny during the narration. Despite comedy being his forte, Raghu found acting relatively easy due to his varied expressions in reality shows. The film revolves around four youths, as highlighted in Raghu’s address.

The two heroines of the film are Raksha Hanumanthu, portraying an innocent and beloved daughter, and Rohi, who plays a central role. Rohi’s amusing experiences during the selection rounds provided lighthearted moments at the media briefing held at SRV Theater.

Co-producing the film is KVR Pictures’ Shobha Shivaji Rao. Vishal Alaap is the music composer, and Deepak Kumar, the son of veteran cinematographer JG Krishna, is the cinematographer. Currently in the re-recording stage, the film is anticipated to hit theaters in February 2024.
