Massive Star Rajavardhan, son of veteran actor Dingri Nagaraj, is stepping into production with his new banner Barn Swallow Company Production House. The banner’s debut film is titled “Java”, and the title was officially unveiled at MMB Legacy, GT Mall, Bengaluru.
Directed by journalist and writer Deva Chakravarthy, the film features Rajavardhan in the lead and actress Ragini Dwivedi as the female lead. The team hosted a press meet to share more details.
Speaking at the event, Rajavardhan said, “We come from a film family. My father has entertained audiences for 40 years through acting, directing, and producing. I’ve worked in Bicchugatti, Pranayam, Hiranya, and Gajaram. Two years ago, I began groundwork for Java through my own production house. Director Deva Chakravarthy has been a guide since my early days, helping with story selection and growth. This film is based on a fascinating, lesser-known incident from the 1980s film industry. We already have four stories in development and plan to support new talent. I seek everyone’s support for our banner.”

Actress Ragini Dwivedi said, “Director Deva first narrated another story, but the way he later presented Java really appealed to me. My role is very challenging and revolves around the life of a film actress. Rajavardhan is a close friend, and I’m happy to be a part of his debut production. I hope audiences support our team. Also, I’ll be making a special birthday announcement soon.”
Director Deva Chakravarthy shared, “As a journalist, writer, and artiste, I’ve been deeply involved in the film industry. After facing many ups and downs, I waited for the right time to direct. Java is based on a real-life event from the 1980s that even many in the industry don’t know. Though it’s a period film, the screenplay is tailored for today’s audience. Earlier, I had written a different script set between Melukote and Delhi, but we shelved it to focus on Java. Rajavardhan and Ragini both play intriguing roles in a story that traces a film actress’s life.”
Poornachandra Tejaswi is scoring the music, K.M. Prakash handles editing, and the cinematographer will be confirmed soon. Praveen Ekanta is leading publicity design, with Sumanth from Kannada Pitchers managing promotions.
The intriguing poster — featuring a young man running from a storm — has stirred curiosity. The film is set to begin shooting in July, with more updates to follow.
