Veteran actor Srinath receives the ‘Raj Ratna’, Dr. Ravindranath honored with the ‘Puneeth Ratna’
The third edition of ‘Raj Puneetotsava’, organized by Symphony Swara Pratishthana, was held at Ravindra Kalakshetra. The event was a musical evening and a felicitation ceremony honoring achievers who have contributed to the film industry as well as public service.
In fond remembrance of the invaluable gems of Kannada cinema — Dr. Rajkumar and Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar — the vibrant event conferred the title ‘Raj Ratna’ upon veteran actor Pranayaraj Dr. Srinath, and the title ‘Puneeth Ratna’ upon Dr. Ravindranath, the head of Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology.
On this occasion, film producer M. Ramesh Reddy, veteran film publicist Nagendra, and young actress Roopika were also honored. Speaking on the occasion, actor Srinath praised the organization’s efforts, saying, “You are nurturing art and artists. Your work of bringing forth talent is truly commendable,” and extended his best wishes.
As part of the Raj Puneetotsava celebrations, winners of the state-level singing competition were felicitated with cash prizes.
Symphony Swara Pratishthana’s honorary president S.K. Ananthu and secretary Symphony Shivu organized the entire event in a well-coordinated manner.
The musical evening, which began at 5 PM, featured renditions of hundreds of popular songs and dances from films starring Dr. Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar, delighting the gathered connoisseurs of art.
