Many films have been made in Kannada that introduce the ideals and personality of Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar. One such film is Puneet Nivasa. Veteran director Nagendra Prasad, who once assisted senior filmmakers like Puttanna Kanagal, has written the story and screenplay for this film and is also directing it. Produced under the banner of Shripanchami Cine Creations by S. Mohan, the film has Kannada Raju as the backbone of the entire team.
Recently, the trailer of the film was released by Green House Vasu, a close associate of the Rajkumar family. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that the film aims to convey something meaningful. He added, “This film shows that even ordinary people can become extraordinary.”
The film revolves around a boy named Mallu, a die-hard fan of Puneeth Rajkumar. The story follows his dream of making a film—whether he succeeds in achieving it and how he upholds Puneeth’s ideals form the core of the narrative. Director Nagendra Prasad has taken up the challenge of telling this inspiring tale.
On stage, producer S. Mohan expressed his passion for cinema, stating, “I’ve been crazy about films since childhood. Watching Rajkumar and Puneeth’s ideals inspired me. I registered this title in 2021, developed nearly 50 stories, but none seemed right. Finally, we brought this story to life. When you step into Puneet Nivasa, you will feel Puneeth’s presence. The story revolves around a poor boy who saves money to make a film and how he ultimately realizes his dream. For this film, our director and I even set up a shooting set ourselves, and the director wholeheartedly supported this vision.”
Director Nagendra Prasad also spoke, calling the film “Mohan’s dream” and the story of a Puneeth fan. He added, “When you enter Puneet Nivasa, Puneeth himself seems to be there. How he appears is the suspense. The film is shaping up beautifully.”
Actor Abhijit, who plays a key role, said, “This title has immense power. When I first heard it, I got goosebumps and immediately agreed. I always wanted to act alongside Puneeth, but that didn’t happen. Now, I feel honored to act in a film named after him. Producer Mohan has deeply imbibed Puneeth’s values and even built a real house for the film.”
Music director M.N. Krupakar revealed that initially, they planned just one song, but it later became four. He mentioned that Abhijit himself has sung the mother’s song.
Veteran producer Karisubbu, who plays a producer’s role in the film, said, “I have known Mohan for a long time. Puneet Nivasa’s story revolves around a producer.”
Master Vitthal plays the role of Mallu, with veteran actors Shankar Bhat, Gandasi Sadanandaswamy, Shreyas, and Aishwarya also portraying important characters. The film’s cinematography is handled by S. Balu, dialogues are written by Gem Shivu, and editing is done by Muthuraj. Other significant actors include M.S. Umesh, Dingri Nagaraj, Tennis Krishna, Rekha Das, and Ganesh Rao Kesarkar.
