A richly talented theater, small screen, and cinema actor, Prakash Heggodu (Yesu Prakash Kallukoppa), died on 30th March after a prolonged illness. He had been suffering from cancer and undergoing treatment in Mangaluru.
Prakash Heggodu, from Sagar Taluk of Shimoga district, acted in several plays, with Heggodu being the origin of his stage career. He appeared in 35 films such as Raja Huli, Santha, Bhagyada Balegara, Kalpana 2, Veeru, Kalasipalya, and others over his three-decade stint in the art field.
A social activist, Prakash Heggodu, was instrumental in revitalizing some closed ponds in his region. He leaves behind his wife, Shylaja, an award-winning teacher, two daughters, and one son.
Another talented actor who passed away a day before Prakash Heggodu’s departure is Daniel Balaji (a popular Tamil actor of Kannada origin and a close relative of the late Murali), who died of a massive heart attack at the age of 48 on March 29.
With very popular films in Tamil like Khadak, actor Daniel Balaji also appeared in Kannada films, from Kirataka starring Yash to Shivajinagara with Dhuniya Vijay, making his screen presence felt.
Daniel Balaji donated his eyes after his death and was involved in social work, helping needy people.
