Renowned choreographer Kalai Master is set to make his directorial debut with the film ‘Cheetah.’ The auspicious mahurat ceremony for the movie took place on Kannada Rajyotsava day at HMT grounds, courtesy of Rajalakshmi Entertainments.
Kalai Master, also known as Raja Kalai Kumar, is at the helm of this project, produced by Prathiba Naresh.
After the flag-hoisting ceremony, Kalai Master shared his excitement about embarking on a new journey after a remarkable 23-year career in the cinema industry as a dancer and dance master. ‘Cheetah’ marks his directorial debut, and it’s the 39th film for the protagonist, Prajwal Devaraj. The film’s setting is a bustling marketplace, mirroring the swift pace of its lead character, Prajwal Devaraj, likened to a ‘Cheetah’ – hence the title.
Art director Shivu is constructing an elaborate marketplace set where a significant portion of the filming will take place. This project also sees the return of Sruthi Hariharan to commercial cinema. The cast includes Telugu star Sunil, Gururaj Jaggesh, Shivaraj KR Pete, Govinde Gowda, Abhay Puneeth, and more. Filming is scheduled to commence on November 6th, as revealed by Kalai Master.
Notably, the first song in Prajwal Devaraj’s debut film was choreographed by Kalai Master, creating a delightful coincidence as he now acts in Kalai Master’s directorial debut. Prajwal Devaraj portrays a young man raised in the marketplace, and the film revolves around his efforts to protect it.
In the film, Gururaj Jaggesh plays the role of Prajwal Devaraj’s friend, while Sruthi Hariharan, Shivaraj KR Pete, Govinda Gowda, and others share insights into their respective roles.
Prathibha Naresh extended a warm welcome to the audience with a flower bouquet. The technicians’ photo shoot and film banners at the mahurat ceremony spot were visually captivating.
