In the serene atmosphere of Nirdhigantha, on a few acres of land near Srirangapattana owned by ace actor Prakash Rai, the interesting film ‘Photo’ trailer was unveiled in the presence of popular Daali Dhananjaya and eminent director cum actor Pawan Kumar.
‘Photo’ adds to the plethora of content-based films in Kannada. The first look of this film, which was well-received by the audience, was unveiled at the last Bangalore International Film Festival. Actor Daali Dhananjaya and Lucia fame Pawan Kumar have supported the film team by releasing the trailer.
Writer and journalist Jogi, Prakash Raj, who presented the ‘Photo’ film, director Utsav Gonawar, and the entire film crew participated in the program.
After the release of the trailer, Daali Dhananjaya said that Utsav had made the movie very well. What is very exciting is that the young directors who are coming recently are presenting good movies and different kinds of movies to our Kannada audience. That’s a very happy thing. They are collaborating on such movies. Prakash Raj is associated with this film. I have been here two or three times when I came to Mysore. ‘Photo’ is a haunting movie.
Lucia’s Pawan said that everyone was posting the poster of the photo movie on social media. Feedback was coming that it was very good. I have seen the movie, very impressed. Seeing the hardships of lockdown in a cinematic way will be very impactful. Seeing the making inspired me a lot. All the best for the whole team, he said.
Prakash Raj said after watching the movie, I could not talk for 15 to 20 minutes. It was so touching. We were all in our homes during the lockdown. The whole world is locked down; I don’t know where to go. Don’t know the way to go. This is the real situation we have seen in the lockdown. During the lockdown, one does not think of taking a lorry or bus and going home. A 21-year-old boy feels that these pains need to be documented, not to be admired. “Let’s stand in support of this film. We decided to release it,” said Prakash Raj.
Director Utsav Gonawar said I went to Coorg before the lockdown. I read an article at that time. A pregnant woman named Gangamma dies from multi-organ damage while going to town from Bangalore. This article was very interesting. I felt that this matter should be documented. Then I started writing and made a movie.
Prakash Raj himself is presenting this Kannada ‘Photo’ film. He has stood in support of this film through his determination. New talent has been supported by this. Utsav Gonavar, an independent director through photography, has shed light on many issues here. The story that took place during the lockdown has been brought to visual form in a mind-blowing way and has resulted in a film that even actors like Prakash Raj can agree with.
Produced under Masari Talkies banner – ‘Photo’ movie stars Mahadev Hadapad, Sandhya Arakere, Jahangir, and Viresh Gonwar. The film has Dinesh Divakaran handling the camera, and Ravi Hiremath’s background music, Shivraj Mehu’s editing for the film.
