With a series of interesting films under his belt, director PC Shekhar now sets his sights on the talented Chinnari Muttha, Vijaya Raghavendra, for his next film with Akasha Pictures.
The new film, produced by Prakash Siddappa under the Akasha Pictures banner, will be directed by PC Shekhar. Vijaya Raghavendra, known for his acting prowess, will be playing the lead role.
Speaking about the film, producer Prakash Siddappa said, “The subject of farmers is very close to my heart.” He also mentioned that PC Shekhar, who was a student at Alliance University, is now happily directing his first film under the Akasha Pictures banner in collaboration with Alliance University’s filmmaking course. Alumni from Alliance, who are now working in various fields, are involved in the film’s production. Efforts are underway to start shooting soon, with Vijaya Raghavendra in the lead role. PC Shekhar expressed his excitement, saying, “What could be more exciting than directing a film under the banner of Akasha Pictures, which offers opportunities to students of Filmmaking and Media Studies at Alliance University? I thank Prakash for this opportunity. This is what you call a guru-disciple relationship.”
Most of the shooting will take place in a village setting. The film aims to highlight the importance of farmers to the country and explore the relationship between farmers and the public. “I have written the story and screenplay for this film, with Vijaya Raghavendra in mind as the lead. The film has a lavish cast and crew and represents a different style of cinema in my many years of filmmaking. This is a project close to my heart, and it is being made with a lot of love,” said director PC Shekhar.
Actor Vijaya Raghavendra shared his enthusiasm: “When PC Shekhar narrated the story of this film, I was thrilled. I am grateful to director PC Shekhar and producer Prakash Siddappa for choosing me for this project. This will be my first film under PC Shekhar’s direction.”
