Here is a well-informed and aristocratic producer, PB Premnath, entering Kannada cinema with a fascination for his lucky number 9. Premnath launched the new banner 1836 Pictures and shot for 108 days. He had 9 persons on stage at the first promotional meet of ‘Paru Parvathy’.
A former employee of ITC, Premnath traveled widely and settled in the UK in 2004. Now back in India, he is making a Kannada film under the debut direction of Rohith Keerthi.
The film stars “Bigg Boss” fame Deepika Das, Poonam Sir Naik, and Fawaz Ashraf in the lead roles. The title unveiling of ‘Paru Parvati’ and the launch of EIGHTEEN THIRTY SIX Pictures production house were held recently.
Producer Premnath spoke first, saying, “I am basically an IT employee. I used to watch movies from a young age and had a dream of producing movies. It has been fulfilled now. The director has made a good story. I have lived in many cities for work and loved the travel story from Rohith Keerthi. Now is the inauguration of our EIGHTEEN THIRTY SIX Pictures production house. 9 comes when EIGHTEEN THIRTY SIX is added, which is my lucky number.”
“This is my first directorial film. Having worked in the direction department for films by directors like P. Vasu, M. Manon, Arvind Shastri, Suni, and others for ten years, I am now into direction. It is an adventure and travelogue. The shooting took place in Bangalore, Goa, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. The story of the movie revolves around three main characters. Deepika Das is seen in the role of Payal. Deepika Das, who is interested in adventures and journeys in real life, is a tailor-made role for her. You will see Deepika Das as you’ve never seen her before. I will tell you about the other two important characters in the coming days.” Director Rohit Keerthi said that the film is now busy in the post-production stage. “How to travel on a zero budget is what struck me in the motion poster of this film.”
“I have always been interested in travel and adventures. I am a lone traveler in this film. Payal is my character’s name. Most of the film’s story takes place during the journey. For this film, I lost ten kg in a month and changed my long hair to short hair. I did what my role asked,” Deepika Das said. “The car we drive in the film has played an important role in this film.”
Poonam Sir Naik and Fawaz Ashraf, who acted in the film, expressed their happiness in being part of it. Poonam, hailing from Mumbai, has acted in several TV serials and ad films over the last 12 years. “It has been a new learning experience for me. The offer came to me on my last birthday. I am basically very shy and worked in an Advertisement Company, taking voluntary retirement.”
Cinematographer Abin Rajesh is the backbone of this film. Music Director A Hari, Composer CK Kumar, Lyricist Nagarjuna Sharma, and Art Director Raghu Mysore were present at the press conference. Mohammed Hamza is the designer of this movie, with Chetan D’Souza directing the action.
