Poornachandra Mysore debuts as a lead in the Raghu Dixit musical “Orchestra Mysuru,” which is directed by Sunil Mysuru. This first festival release of the year features both triumph and adversity. The narrative speaks out for all the under-appreciated local artists who are still vying for recognition alongside Yuva Dasara. Here are a few reasons why Orchestra Mysuru is a treat not to be missed.

THE CORE MYSURU FACTOR

The movie was filmed in Mysuru, a heritage city renowned for its cultural diversity. The film’s plot is centered on this place and largely emphasizes the genuine character of its inhabitants. Mysuru, as the main character, represents individuals, everyday life, and ideals. Anyone who is familiar with the city, in and out, will undoubtedly own this tale. The exquisitely lit Palace, brief glimpses of the Dasara celebration, aerial view of the city, and sneaking out on locals routine have all been remarkably convincing. The cinematographers Joseph K Raja and Rahul Roy get it exactly right.

POORNACHANDRA TO OFFER HOPE OF RENEWAL

Despite sharing the spotlight in a few well-known movies and having the lead role in a web series, Poornachandra Mysore makes his acting debut as a hero in this movie. The Mysuru-based actor owns the title role “Poorna” and adds a polished local touch. The list of emotions he portrays with such ease is long; the purity he exudes, the glimmer in his eyes during romantic scenes, the desire to become an orchestra singer, and the portrayal of struggle and setbacks. He undoubtedly gives the industry hope and has shown he is here to stay.

RAGHU DIXIT’S MUSICAL CONTRIBUTION

Where words fail, music communicates, as Hans Christian Andersen once stated. This has been accomplished in this movie in a unique method where the music has assisted in creating the universe in which the narrative takes place. The entire film’s sequence has been improved in several sections by Raghu Dixit’s score. The music is both upbeat and powerful. Siddhartha Belmannu deserves special attention for backing the lead actor. The complete soundtrack of the movie was written by Daali Dhananjaya, who excels as a lyricist in this lovely album.

EXEMPLARY PERFORMANCES

Many characters appear throughout the plot; some remain throughout the course of the movie, while others disappear. The actors’ contributions are quite admirable despite the short screen time. The actor Dileep Raj as Naveen Raj has done a commendable job portraying a character with multiple facets. Surprisingly, all of the main supporting performers are newcomers who excel in their roles. The relatability factors are found in the fabric act of the characters and their conversing local dialect of Mysuru. Not to mention that the dialogue writers also played a part in this outcome.

CANDID PRESENTATION

The orchestra field in Mysuru serves as the film’s central setting, and the technical crew went for a larger output with a minimalistic style. The authentic orchestra setup in actual events was captured by the productions using gorilla shooting. The public appears to have naturally congregated to accept this after the producers patiently traveled for six years to sustain this output, overcoming their own share of challenges. The live example is the pre-release event that gathered a 12000+ audience and the packed early-scheduled premiere in Mysuru.

The team welcomed its audience with a message: “ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿಗೊಂದು ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಿನಿಮಾ. ಎಳ್ಳು ಬೆಲ್ಲ ತಿಂದು ಒಳ್ಳೆ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ನೋಡಿ”.  Movie now is available on Prime Video.
