Set in Bengaluru and Mangalore, ‘Nimitta Matra’ delves into the aftermath of forgotten secrets and unsettling experiments. It marks a rare venture into the parapsychological thriller genre for Kannada cinema, offering an intense viewing experience.
The story follows an investigative journalist, portrayed by actor Poornachandra Mysore, who is determined to uncover the truth behind mysterious events haunting the region for over a decade. Inspired by his father’s legacy, he confronts numerous challenges in his pursuit. The film raises questions about whether he will succeed in revealing the truth or if the reality is far more terrifying.
Director Roshan D’Souza emphasized the importance of the film’s trailer, stating, “Since the trailer serves as an invitation for audiences to watch our film, I took ample time to perfect it. After months of meticulous effort, I am thrilled with the response. ‘Nimitta Matra’ is a full-fledged commercial thriller, and for those unfamiliar with parapsychology, this film offers a completely unique experience.”

Director Roshan D’Souza also highlighted the contribution of Aravind Kuplikar, who plays a police officer. “Aravind Kuplikar has a very special role in the movie.
