The inaugural Karnataka Nandi Film Awards curtain-raiser unfolded at MMB Legacy venue, a hub for all film-related events, with Kichchca Sudeepa presiding on Sunday morning.

The grandest awards celebration is scheduled for December 6, and I extend my best wishes to the event. Kichcha Sudeepa revealed that he stopped attending awards events in 2003–2004, sharing the unique reason behind this decision. His desire is for deserving talent to be rightfully recognized. Emphasizing the significance of awards bearing the name ‘Nandi,’ he expressed hope for a smooth journey for KNFA.

It’s important to note that the Nandi Award in question is unrelated to the similarly named award conferred by the Andhra Pradesh state.

The founders of this award are former KFCC president Ba Ma Harish, producer and director Nityanand Prabhu, Padmavathi Chandrasekhar, and Anitha Reddy. Ba Ma Girish, Harshita, Nandita, and Ashok serve as directors on the committee.

Nandi Awards prioritize regional languages such as Kannada, Tulu, Kodava, Konkani, Barry, and Banjara. Additionally, literary, print, and visual media receive recognition among the 50 awards across various categories.

The inaugural Karnataka Nandi Film Awards will take place on December 6 at Orion Mall, attended by luminaries from the cinema industry, politicians, and other distinguished guests.
